The H. Wynn Rickey Award is a $500 scholarship awarded to a university level student who shows dedication and academic performance in pursuing a degree in French. Qualifications for consideration are the following: nominee is a student in good standing at his/her academic institution, and is a student or a former student of a current Chapter member. Chapter member nominates a student and the nominee writes a one page essay in French regarding the importance of the study of French and what impact that study has on his or her future plans. Nominations and paperwork will be submitted to the President by March 1. A winner will be selected from the submissions received by the award committee. The President coordinates the award committee of 3 members who will be named at the fall meeting. The winner of the scholarship award will be announced at the spring meeting.
